A LITTLE ABOUT ME:
Ok, folks. For those of you who have been anxiously waiting (or do not care at all), I am again sporting a website.
Maybe it is because I feel that I have something important to say. But more likely, it is because I need a vehicle to
run the hockey pools, post our team's stats, and show off my new baby when he/she is born. Without further ado...
So, I am Jeff Dunn, the man of many interests, few talents and a lot of quirky, useless ideas (the more diplomatic way
of saying that whole jack-of-all-trades cliché...)
If I were to sum up the important things in my life, they would probably fall (in this order) in two categories:
- My Family - In May of 2003, I married the beautiful and intelligent Dana (then
Kerins) and haven't regretted a single second. Finding someone as quirky as me, and the only person who has as bizarre
of a sense of humor, it was probably my greatest blessing ever. Likewise, just this past summer (August of 2005) I had
the honor of adopting her (and now my) son, Austin. I have been Austin's "unofficial" dad since 2001, and have watched
him grow from an imaginative little 3-year old obsessed with imitating Rugrats and Batman to an intelligent, caring 8-year
old who shares my love of Star Wars & Spider-Man and who surprises me and makes me laugh every day. And in June
of this year, our 3-person family will become a 4-person endeavor, with a little one on the way. No, we don't know the
sex, and no, we aren't find out. Can't I have a little bit of spontaneity in my otherwise predictable life?
and
- My varied interests and hobbies -
- HOCKEY - both professional (let's go Flyers!) and my favorite 2-hours per week
playing in-line hockey with the guys from Gold's Gym
- STAR WARS & SPIDER-MAN - I
could sugar-coat this and say that these two things are what keep me in touch with my son's interests, but that would just
be a lie. I am a geek - tried and true. And I challenge anyone to stump me on SW or Spidey trivia. I am
not proud of my geekness, but I feel it is better to embrace it than run away from it.
- MUSIC - I am a lover of almost all kinds of music (except for maybe rap and country,
and there are even exceptions there). Music has always been a passion - I play guitar and piano and used to write songs
regularly (those who have known me long know about my "disturbed" years of Smash the Preppie and Green Eggs &
Ham). Now-a-days, I don't get to write and play so much, but I make up for it by listening to ALOT and trying to
make as many great individualized mixes for people as I can.
- I would put travel on this list as well, but I rarely get to, though, it is a dream of mine to do more of it. My
favorite places to have visited are Toronto, Montreal, Dungloe (Ireland) and Edinburg, Scotland. One day...
